Dr. Tielong Zhang, professor at Harbin Institute of Technology Shenzhen, and member of the International Academy of Astronautics, received his bachelor’s degree from Peking University and PhD from University of California, Los Angeles. His main interests are in deep space exploration, magnetic payload development, and planetary physics. He is a senior consultant of the National Astronomical Observatory's Lunar Exploration Center, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He is the PI of the magnetometer of Venus Express of ESA, the PI of the magnetometer of ‘Tianwen-1’, the PI of scalar magnetometer of Macau Science Satellite 1, the payload for China's first Mars exploration mission, and the leader of the magnetic sensor research and development project which is a major national instrument and equipment research and development project. He has published more than 300 SCI articles, cited in SCI for more than 6000 times, with an H-index of 40.
