Shenzhen Graduate School Announcement (Changxi/Text, Picture) April 13,Feng Xueshang, a researcher at the National Center for Space Science of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the deputy director of the Key Laboratory of Space Weather at the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the winner of the National "Outstanding Youth", was hired as a part-time professor at the Shenzhen campus. Zhen Liang, the assistant to the president of Harbin Institute of Technology and the executive deputy director of the campus preparation office, issued a letter of appointment to Feng Xueshang. Wei Fengsi, the academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the chief academic adviser of the school of science, attended the ceremony, and Liang Yanan,  the deputy director of the Personnel Office, hosted the ceremony.

    Zhen Liang extended a warm welcome to Feng Xueshang for joining the school district faculty team and hoped that his work will be on track as soon as possible. He pointed out that the scientific research team led by the academician Wei Fengsi urgently needs a large number of leading talents in related fields, and he hoped that Feng Xueshang will continue to improve his own scientific research level, to contribute to the construction of the campus space physics department, and to promote his own scientific research to a higher level.

    Wei Fengsi said that Feng Xueshang had always been at the forefront of international academics in the field of mathematics by virtue of his diligent and pragmatic professionalism and had achieved fruitful scientific research results. He said that Feng Xueshang will serve as the director of the Space Weather Storm Laboratory under the Academy of Space Science and Applied Technology on campus, hoping that he will continue to improve the accuracy of digital forecasts on space weather in my country and reach the world's advanced level. Feng Xueshang introduced the background, positioning, development plan and main tasks of the space weather storm laboratory. He stated that the purpose of the establishment of the laboratory is to continuously improve space cognition, reduce and avoid space weather disasters caused by space storms, provide an advanced scientific cognition basis, establish a space weather forecast system, and ensure human space exploration, development and utilization. Ma Chuang, the deputy director of the Science and Technology Development Department, and relevant staff of the school office also participated in the appointment ceremony.

    Feng Xueshang is a researcher at the National Space Science Center of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the deputy director of the Key Laboratory of Space Weather at the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Winner of the National Science Foundation "Outstanding Youth Fund". He is currently a director of the Chinese Geophysical Society, director of the Special Committee of Space Weather, a director of the Chinese Society of Computational Physics, and a director of the Chinese Society of Plasma Physics. Over the years, Feng Xueshang has devoted himself to the research in the field of numerical simulation and forecasting of interplanetary solar storms, and has made systematic and innovative new progress. At the same time, he has also made outstanding contributions to the development of space weather science in China; Published 180 SCI papers in the journal, which have been cited more than 1,500 times by scientists from nearly 30 countries including the United States, Britain, Germany, France, and Japan; won the National Science Foundation "Outstanding Youth Fund", the first prize of Natural Science of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (second Winner), National Natural Science Second Prize (Second Winner), National Candidate for the New Century "Hundred, Thousand, Thousand Talents Project", Zhao Jiuzhang Outstanding Young and Middle-aged Science Award, etc.
